To Buy or Not to Buy Mahoning County Real Estate
In today´s market here in the Mahoning Valley if one has a steady job and is not too deeply in debt, he is foolish if he has not become a home owner. The advantages of Mahoning County real estate home ownership far outweigh the disadvantages.
The greatest advantage certainly is that when one is making a monthly payment on his home mortgage, a buyer is paying himself and developing equity which, as this continues, is like putting money in the bank each month.
Following are some reasons people avoid home ownership:
-
Some people avoid home ownership because they are afraid of the long term commitment to repairs and maintenance.
- Some do not have the down payment, but that is not a problem in today´s financial world. There are plentiful zero-down loans available to qualified buyers.
- Some are unsure where they want to live and have jobs that require that they move from place to place. Renting means ease of movement from one city to another without the burden of selling a home.
- Then there are those who believe they can make more money in investments than in the purchase of a home. The recent stock market has proven that to be erroneous.
- Many simply do not want to be tied down. Their lives are "footloose and fancy-free"; they are single and are holding off until they marry to make that purchase. Since men and women alike are marrying later in life, they could be losing valuable years of equity gain by not purchasing sooner.
